It appears the i7's I have been looking at on Newegg don't come with CPU coolers, so if I am to buy one, and I don't think I'd go with an Intel-stock.
My Phenom x6 has this, w/heat-pipes low and integral from the base and also integral with the whole assembly:

1) Heat pipes a gimmick (that is stock, so I assume not), or what do you use to cool an i7, or equiv, no OC'ing planned)?
2) I still have some Arctic Silver Ceramique (OG, been in the fridge for 10+ years) with an OEM cooler, or aftermarket cooler even, is it worth using?
