I don't post here - I just come to read sometimes. I recently got one of those "Your privacy - I know your password" spear-phishing emails demanding a ransom of Bitcoin because they have remotely accessed my computer, webcam (don't have one LOL) and they have videos of me pleasuring myself (LOL), all my passwords, etc. The password mentioned in the email as "proof" they know all is my password for this site.
Of course, I know it is bogus, and they can't do ****. I just wonder how they got my CG password? I use a different password for every site I am on with some shorthand in them so I know what site they were used on. I try to use a strong and unique password for every site. The one that was hacked-stolen-guessed here wasn't really a super-strong one, but it wasn't one of the common ones, no. It had numbers, letters, punc, and did not spell out a real word. It has been years since I logged in here. Needless to say, I changed it to a stronger and longer password.
Just makes you wonder how the ******* got it in the first place.
