As I understand it the SIM card contains the EIN number that gets associated to the phone number. I recently bought a new phone that came with a SIM card. After all was said and done my old phone went back to my carrier for a credit and I have a SIM card with no phone.

Is the card useful for anything or should I just shred it in my shredder?

Unless it is a prepaid account, it's junk.
But be sure you don't have phone numbers stored on the sim.

To be sure Google how to copy phone numbers from dim card to your model on cell.


Then shred.

All my contacts are in the new phone/SIM. Not even sure how to store a number in the SIM.
