USB Type H vs M vs N?

My son has a Tetris LED lamp that came with a 3.3 ft power cable I'm not familiar with. On one end you've got a USB A connector. On the other end you've got a barrel connector. The lamp reads "Class 2 input only. Input: 5V AC, 500mA."

My son wants to move the lamp and the 3.3 ft cable will no longer make it. I'm trying to buy a longer cable, but I can't figure out what to get. I see that there are three types of barrel connectors: Type H, Type M, and Type N.

I'm guessing I need an N tip, but it's just a guess. Any way I can figure it out short of buying it?

Keep it simple and get a USB A extension cord. It’ll be a lot easier finding that than the other.

yeah that is weird, LED usually want DC too. Oh well, USB extension should take care of it no matter if he uses the original cable and wall transformer on each end of it.

Class 2 power supplies are what's called wall warts. The AC is probably a misprint and it's very likely a typical cheap USB power supply.

BTW, LEDs usually like DC and those LED bulbs you buy to replace incandescent bulbs have a cheap AC to DC converter circuit. Those circuits use diodes which don't mind AC even though LEDs are diodes.

Lumileds was working on LEDs for AC supply, but I don't know what's become of those. If it lasts a long time, it probably died in the lab. Philips was a leader in the light bulb cartel back in the early days. They forced all members to build bulbs with an average lifetime of 1000 hours. The tech back then could easily surpass that by far.
