I was trying to watch some youtube videos and several of them would not play because youtube demanded I watch them in HTML5, whatever the heck that is. I tried loading HTML5, but it tried to load Net framework 4 at the same time, whatever the heck that is, which turns out to be an enormous program, so I stopped the download. Is HTML5 a really useful program to have?

HTML5 and Net Framework 4

I am not really well versed on the subject, but as I understand it, regarding how it pertains to your issue regarding videos on Youtube: HTML5 allows you to play Youtube vids. w/out Adobe Flash, as Flash is not an open standard, so Flash is no longer required. Any modern browser SHOULD play Youtube vids via HTML5, OOTB (out of the box, so to speak).
AFAIK Any current Firefox (& forks/derivatives: Brave, IceCat, IceWeasel), Chrome, Internet Exploder, Edge, etc. SHOULD all work with Youtube's HTML5 (vid-streams?).
I am not sure where .NET plays into your issue.Last edited by the86d; 01-28-2019, 5:29 AM. -
