    ATT or Spectrum?

    1) I'm moving.

    2) I currently have Spectrum (Time Warner Cable).

    3) At the new place, I can get Spectrum or ATT. Their prices are within $5 of each other.

    4) All I'm shopping for is an Internet connection. No tv. No phone service. No nuttin'.

    5) Tell me which: Att or Spectrum?

    Thanks.

ATT: $50 (12 mos.), Up to 10 Mbps
Spectrum: $44.99 (12 mos.), Up to 100 Mbps

Spectrum can be different from city to city. It sucked in Long Beach, but is much better in huntington beach. Not an answer to your question.

I am ATT for internet and Spectrum for TV.
I've never had Spectrum for internet or ATT for TV but ATT high speed internet works fine for me.

I don't know about ATT, but I tried Spectrum, and unplugged it and plugged the router back into my FiOS pipe in less than 5 full days.

I would even get 1080p youtube videos buffering for 30 seconds for no reason at all on a wired pipe with all the same underlying connections in the house.
Internet would pause for these 15-30 seconds, all the time.

Granted I am probably the Spectrum exception here, but this is my experience.
I called multiple times, and they wanted to send out a tech, again, after testing their side, and I even made their modem a pass-through and used my own reliable router to see if that helped... nope.

I made a few calls today. It appears Spectrum offers a $44.99 Internet plan with 100 Mpbs. This is a special 12 mo. offer of approximately $30 off their regular price. The way this works is that, during the 12 mos., the $30 off is guaranteed, but they can raise the base price. Tricky, eh?

From what I could figure out from ATT, they offer a $50 plan with 10 Mpbs. It doesn't make sense to me that their competing plan is so much slower, but that's what they said.

Guess this deal goes to Spectrum. Thanks for the responses.

About the time your 'deal ' is up, call and say you are going to cancel. 99% of the time they agree to keep your lower rate. Not like they lose money.
