    newbie gmail questions

I never got a gmail email account because I hate Goggle. For all the usual reasons. However, I've been watching so many youtubes that I'd like to be able to subscribe. Not to mention get and use some apps.

So my question is, can I be anonymous on google? If I say my name is Albert Einstein when I sign up, will I run into issues later? If I want to download any apps, my credit card doesn't say Albert Einstein.

No problem but they will know its you and might force you to either change and prove who you are or lock you out for fraud! Remember they buy credit card transaction data so they can associate it with your account!

us apk mirror, aptoid or yalp if you want to be less watched on!

FUD. I have a few email accounts, some of which are blatantly obviously not real names and I haven't heard so much as a peep from any of the providers I've signed up with. They couldn't care less what name you use.

Yup, pure FUD. I would be willing to bet there are more gmail accounts with fictitious names, or business name, causes, clubs, etc etc etc than actual people.

Well, if they try to make me prove who I am I'll prob just give them the finger and buy an ayepad.

edit: Oops, which brings to mind another question. If I have a ballistic calculator on an ayepad, for example, and am out in a field somewhere and want to calculate a ballistic, I obviously won't be connected to the internet. Will it still work?

Reading comprehension is not a forte around here. I said might, and the OP mentions he hates google and I gave him a reason why google will find out who he is even with a fake name, since most CC share purchase info with google. Some here need to check out some tech news from betanews.com, slashdot.org, the hacker news and find out what Google, FB and twitter are up too. Most also said gun rights will not diminished and look where we are, do you want your info to be in the hands of corps? Did you know google wants to buy your medical info?

I have a Gmail account with my real name,
I don't use that one at all.
It is not the one tied to my Androids.

If you login to Google with a Gmail account, cookies remember you, and Chrome apparently remembers you forever. I browse with Firefox, and if I need to login to a Gmail account, I do it in a private Window, as it does not appear to remember anything, Chrome seems to. Granted, if you want to Like/Dislike/Subscribe you need to login to Youtube with a Gmail account. On my TV I use a separate Gmail account I only use on my Smart TV, and I subscribe/like/dislike on that. Got to keep 'em separated...

Personally, on my Androids, I use a spam account, and always give out another spam account when purchasing something, or if anyone asks.
Be as much of a monkey-wrench as you can.
I get ZERO e-mail spams on my phone due to not purchasing anything under this phone/Tablet gmail-account tied in.
I use a Google Voice number when plugging in my phone number to any sites I purchase from (and all credit card/bank/Mortgages), and only Target's web site has had a problem with this number, and this Voice number is set to not ring my phone. If I need to check status of an order, I simply open a private Firefox window, and login to gmail that way... I don't need e-mailed updates unless I want to check them!

No problem. I never have my real info on the net. Shoot, I have a YouTube channel under a fake name and have never shown my face and have a modest nearly 3,000 subscribers. I also have a dummy Facebook page, email accounts and Twitter that I only use for any contests Like gun giveaways that require you like their page or tweet their contest.

One more think regarding GMail. I read that in 2019, they are going to require a cell number for verification (i.e. change password). Should that come to be, I'm out. I know of too many people who have used their cell numbers for text verification for FB and Google and have regretted it (i.s. unconsolidated calls, unwanted ads).

Yes.. you can use whatever fake name you want! As long as you know they can still find out who you are when they have to. Anonymous only when they aren't looking for you.

Any insight on my follow up question re:Ipad or other tablet-thing that doesn't have direct internet connectivity?

One problem with that is Google tracks by IP, MAC, WIFI network name etc. Using a private window doesn't really hide you from Google. The street view cars don't just take pictures they scan for wifi networks and geo locate them.
