    TV guru's come in here

I"ve been in the market for a cheap 65" TV to replace my 32".

This morning, I ran into this: https://www.target.com/p/lg-65-4k-uh...a/-/A-53871914

    On sale for $510 + tax w/free in-store pick-up.

I ordered it cause I didn't wanna miss out on the deal and my order is cancelable. But, I am wondering if any of you knowledgeable TV people know of any better deals out there right now? I don't really wanna spend more than $500-600.

The reality is I normally barely watch TV and while I may watch TV more often now and possibly even buy a gaming console soon, I don't spend much time on the TV anyway. All I really want is 4K with smart features for the most part.

I know close to nothing about TV's so just looking for opinions...

    Thanks

Did not look at the link. Given it is so close to Black Friday and Cyber Monday, I'd shop around more.

Check out Costco for their bf sale. Perks of buying from Costco is your get 2 year warranty and if you have their CITI card you get an extra 2 year warranty. 4 years total.

My neighbor bought that TV today. I just got back from helping him hang it and set it up in his living room. For $500 it is a very good deal. Very good pic and also good sound, and the apps seemed very responsive. He is super excited about it, and he moved his old living room TV to his bedroom which was also a major upgrade for him.

Check out www.rtings.com for their reviews on TVs. They go from best regardless of price to best bang for your buck and offer a LOT more info than Consumer Reports etc..

Thanks! I decided to try it out and picked up my order today. The TV was very easy to setup and is absolutely enormous compared to my old 32". I will prob move my 32" to my bedroom for now, which like your neighbor will be a bedroom upgrade.

For $500 I am pretty pleased so far.

This TV only has 60Hz panel refresh. LG calls it ‘Truvision’ 120’ or some similar 120 qualifier, but like many other LCD TV makers, they lie/fudge.

My neighbor noticed it tonight during a basketball game. When the camera pans around really fast you can see some slight blur and occasionally artifacts. Some of it may have been in the stream/broadcast though.

Still really nice for $500 I think.

After looking at sets - I would only buy LG or Samsung

Costco extends the factory warranty. Use a Costco visa and it doubles again
