    Wish.com, and roll the chineesium-polyhedrals...

    The lady got some 64GB MicroSD cards /w small MicroSD Reader from wish, and said she didn't care, "they were cheap".
    Code:
    $ dd if=/dev/zero of=1 bs=1M count=64000
    dd: error writing '1': No space left on device
    4096+0 records in
    4095+0 records out
    4293918720 bytes (4.3 GB, 4.0 GiB) copied, 473.141 s, 9.1 MB/s
    Code:
    $ dd if=/dev/zero of=1 bs=1M count=64000
    dd: error writing '1': No space left on device
    4096+0 records in
    4095+0 records out
    4293918720 bytes (4.3 GB, 4.0 GiB) copied, 476.716 s, 9.0 MB/s
    Code:
    $ dd if=/dev/zero of=1 bs=1M count=64000
    dd: error writing '1': No space left on device
    4096+0 records in
    4095+0 records out
    4293918720 bytes (4.3 GB, 4.0 GiB) copied, 723.264 s, 5.9 MB/s
    THOSE are the smallest 64GB MicroSD card I have ever seen.

    I'll let her know when she gets up...
    At least she has some readers for about $1/ea, AND some MicroSD card cases w/SD adapters?

    The devices didn't even die when the 4GB was written...
    FANCY: Genesis Logic, Inc. reader.

    4GB file limit on a FAT32 formatted file system maybe?

    You didn't mention that they were NTFS/exFAT or EXTx

      Hahahahaa I completely forgot about this limitation... as I don't use FAT32 much anymore.
      (The firmware on my car stereo had to be updated, and the stereo couldn't see the file on exFAT, so I had to reformat the USB stick FAT32.)

        Well, w/exFAT it got through 2 full 64GB writes, and stops writing at 16GB now...
        Code:
        $ dd if=/dev/zero of=Delete.me.test bs=1M count=64000
        dd: error writing 'Delete.me.test': No space left on device
        14844+0 records in
        14843+0 records out
        15564013568 bytes (16 GB, 14 GiB) copied, 1176.96 s, 13.2 MB/s
        Reformatting, then trying again.

          I never buy those cheapo cards or memory. I tried telling a guy I work with that there was no way he was buying a 2TB SSD for $40 when he saw it online. He ordered it, then complained it would error out during a file write.

            After a quick format she is writing 64gb again. Weird.

              I got a cheapie no-name with a droidX, or a droid2 I bought off a coworker used. Luckily I was able to carve the pictures off it when it crapped the bed.

                64GB writing less? Did you convert from chinese units to US units? I think the conversion is /4

                    2TB LOL. At that point you're just asking to be ripped off

                      Do you have write caching enabled for those drives? If so, you can delete files and the file system will delay marking the sectors unused until a flush is triggered. Disable write caching and try again.

                        I have MiniTool data recovery for solid state recovery. Great little program.
