    Android 6.01

My 2.5 year phone still runs on 6.01. No update from my carrier available for my cheap phone.

How much longer is it safe to run on 6.01? Just curious

My Samsung Galaxy S5 is running 6.0.1. Overall I am not too worried. It probably depends on what you do. Browse weird sites and you might pick up something. Just be careful on emails you open and messages you read.

Yes, OREO gets monthly (more or less) security updates.

Had you tried other browsers on the iPad?

I haven't tried Lineage on anything yet, but I was a HUGE CyanogenMod fan...
On the Droid, and Droid2. Hell, I paid a bounty on the Sidekick 4g for a more stable build. Oh, how I miss a keyboard with direction arrows on a physical K/Board.

Maybe it's time to look into this again to bring new life to 8-16GB (~$100-$150 phones I don't use, but for backup) phones...

(I would gladly pay $250-$300 for a modern phone with a physical keyboard with directional arrows AND T-Mobile LTE.)

TMobile just update my very stable Android 7.0 to an unstable 8.0. The update took all my items in various folders and placed them on the desktop. Phone is noticeably slower and pull down menus do not always work. The timed function for silencing my phone is gone. Haven't found one thing better in v8 then v7. Nothing but problems.

But...its all a ploy. Update only benefits Google - whether to find out more about me or force me to update my 19 months old phone.
