    unlocked phone issue... or not

I so I have a oneplus 2. At the same time, I ordered a oneplus x for the S.O. both are unlocked phones.

my kids school has a text message service that if you subscribe sending sometihng to a 5-digit txt number, and putting a code, we would receive text updates.

the odd part is I signed up with my personal phone (tmobile, oneplus 2) i get a response back of "nullnull". i tried a few times and kept on getting the same thing. i called tmobile and they told me that my account didn't have that feature turned on, even if i can get text messages (never any services; and i never get anything from financial companies for 2-factor authentication, wihcih now makes sense). tmobile enabled it for me and then it worked for financial, but still nothing for school's service and still get "nullnull"

i called tmobile back and they got me to deep support. they asked me if S.O. was getting it but then i found out she never signed in fear of charges (forgot she has unlimited text). but she texted the number and the code, and it worked. My work phone (iphone, AT&T) worked flawlessly.

fast forward, tmobile 2nd level support confirmed the messages are getting to the text service, not nothing is coming back.

unsure where else to go at this point. (if i get fired, then i only have my personal mobile, wihch doesn't get notifications). it can't be because it's unlocked becuase the S.O. works. I can't find anything in the internet about "nullnull" responses.

You should do some research on the web. I went through something similar while back with my unlocked Window 10 phone and had to manually plug in necessary info, which eventually I found on the web. AT&T wasn't any help as their locked phones already were set up.

Do you need to set the APN info on your phone? Maybe this can get you started in the right direction.

Yeah, that similar to what I had to plug in, of course it was different for ATT and Window phone.

Found someone on another forum who was having the same problem. The solution was to update the IMEI of the unlocked phone.

Try changing the IMEI # on your at&t account. Here are the instructions directly from at&t:

i read thru the articles a little more. i actually went thru it with the 2nd level support... with a few restarts.. i can't remember what code you put on keypad to get something out? (didn't remmeber the term).

i may try switching the sim with the SO's phone to see if that makes a difference.
