Newpark Mall pays for that WiFi you were using so they can limit any content they choose. If you were at the food court with your young kids, would you want some putz at the next table watching porn in full view of your kids?

WiFi isn’t need for the butter ball to watch porn. 4g does that just fine. I get that it’s their WiFi, it’s just a slippery slope.

What if they only let you view ads for things they were selling?

If your going to offer free WiFi, just offer it. Don’t put your ( the companies) agenda into it.

      Again, slippery slopes.

Back in ye old days, these places called public libraries had free access to books all day long, but they didn't carry Playboy, Penthouse, and surely never Hustler.

Big 'Uns? Forget about it. There wasn't even an adult section.

Don't expect any different from free public WiFi .

Porn is almost universally believed (in this and many other countries) to be content that should be restricted from full public viewing. I agree.

Oh man... MWC was my SHOW!! I remember that episode!
The liberal see's the glass as half full and tries to take more.
The conservative see's glass as half empty and tries to keep it that way.
I'm with the people on the side just pouring water in the glass trying to get a drink!

Hell, I couldn't even get a whole array of videos from firearm and military related to zapping wasps with a homemade bug zapper.
My point proven; one person's porn is another man's treasure. Y'all gross if you think porn is a heinous thing. Who are you to judge if consenting people of legal age are involved? It's an artform that goes back more than 5000 years - fact.

Yet to some, articles on firearms are a form of "porn" as well is that articles on killing defenseless animals is violence.

Such is the case of the libraries I cited also having refused to carry "On The Road", "Catcher in the Rye", "Slaughterhouse 5" "Naked Lunch", "Howl" and "Fahrenheit 451" among other works.

The only thing I think should be blocked is porn in public area WiFi.

It is as stupid as Hotel/Motel’s blocking streaming content or locking out hdmi ports on their TV’s for streaming sticks to force you to watch what’s provided or pay for premium movies.

Don’t advertise free WiFi for customers then restrict how you can use it or time out your connection in 30 to hour blocks.

I have always used the cable HDMI port on hotel TVs for Netflix and YouTube on Roku devices or my Droid boxes.

What hotels are locking out HDMI ports?

One trick I use, providing that they have a wired RJ45 jack is to drop a router on it:
You only have to agree once (at Hilton-owned chains) from anything on the router, then everything else connected is considered good as it was agreed to from the same IP, so they think everything on it is the same device, already agreed to.

The BIG benefit to using a router is since 2.4GHz is so saturated in these places w/only 3 channels during peak times, using a 5GHz connection to the router circumvents most of WiFi congestion.

Before having a travel-802.11N router, 2.4GHz was so saturated, I used 4g tethered with USB, as even 2.4GHz tethering was unusable.

                      Hilton-owned chains usually have a 24-hour-long agreement, so once a day...isn't bad.

There's no difference between that and watching Fox vs CNN, or whatever newspaper you read, or site you go to. You can consuming the content the content providers owner want you to consume.

IF they want to block my VPN they will have to block TLS (port 443) so good luck w/ that. I have my mobile devices set up to always VPN out to my home LAN, even when home.
