DTV Genie

I know this does not quite fix into this category but no place else to ask
Can anyone tell me just how the Genie works?
Thinking of upgrading but want t make sure I can still take receivers with us in the Motor home as we do travel a lot.

Don't know about DTV other than there is an app you should be able to watch on your phone so long as you have wifi. From your phone, you should be able to stream to a smart TV.

i too am in the pickle my eqipment is from 2001 and they say they are ending SD in 2019

i like my old boxes i can grab one and a dish and go camping

You are correct, the main box is the receiver and streams to the remote "Genii" boxes, either via coax or wifi.
I believe that you can still get an RV receiver and dish as part of your plan "for extra $$" of course.

To my understanding dish works the same way
