    Losing login

PC desktop, Windows 11, Google Chrome.

Generally I allow Cookies and have that setting to delete them when I close the browser. I have a dozen or so websites on the the Chrome"Allow" list that keep cookies and Cal guns is one of them. If I'm on the site for more than about 15 minutes, nothing changes on the screen but when I click elsewhere, my login has expired and I have to re-log in. This loses a reply I may have typed but not yet posted- and there's no getting it back.

Ideas on what setting is doing this? Thanks.

that happened to me for like the first two years I was on here. I thought it was just how the site worked. Now it doesn't do that, and keeps the login even if I close the browser. I have no idea what I did to change it. Sorry I know that isn't helpful, but there is something that does it.

Dumb question, but are you checking the box for CG to remember your login credentials before you log in?

Not dumb at all- the "check the obvious" is a logical thing. Sadly, yes- its checked.

Delete all calguns cookies, and all cached data. That may fix it.

                      Probably FP's fault.

I've seen something like that using http rather than https. Now, is it my browser's fault (firefox) or something else: I don't know

Might be a Chrome thing, Test it on Internet Explorer and see if you get the same result. If so it might either be a thing with calguns.net or a setting on your computer. If not see if the allow list has calguns.net spelled correctly. Also the cache or cookie for calguns could be corrupted on your machine and chrome is ignoring the corrupted one but deleting the temporary one that chrome created when it cant modify the corrupted one.

I had a problem with this with FF and ad block extension. Made CG exception to allow some ads and the forgetful login went away. Still works fine.
Play with add on ad blocker if you have one or the browser pop up blocker.
