Ripping CD's to MP3 - Track Order Jumbled?

Am using Free Audio Convertor to rip my CD collection to MP3's. The ripped CD's are being output with the track order jumbled. Can someone explain to a non-techie how to fix the issue? Dell POS laptop running Windows 10.

Don't know about this particular program, but rippers sometimes have a setting in the preferences where you can use variables or metacharacters to set the output name format. Like "%T - %A - %a - %N" for track number, artist, album and track title, for example. This would produce a output file like "06 - Red Hot Chili Peppers - Californication - Californication"

It's then up to the player import function to mangle the names of the files so they appear as proper metadata in its track display. This assumes you aren't embedding an ID3 tag in the output file, at which point the file name is meaningless as the player will use the tag metadata for sorting in the player.

Check out the program preferences for these.

I have not tried the program on WIn 10, but I use EAC - Exact Audio Copy.
As stated in above post there should be settings to chance somewhere in the program.

This is correct and is the best of two ways of telling your MP3 player the correct order to play back the songs. The other is to number the song titles. 01, 02, etc.

If it were me I'd rip to a lossless format like FLAC or ALAC and then then run a conversion program to make MP3s as a second copy. That way you have a master copy and your MP3s.

EAC (Exact Audio Copy) is a great choice if you have no more than 60-60 CDs but if you have more then I'd automate the ripping, naming, tagging, sorting and filing, and second (MP3) copy creation using dbPoweramp's ($38) batch ripper. You feed the PC discs and the batch ripper names and tags each track and then files them how you choose. I file by 'D:/Music/Artist/Album/Song' and 'D:/MP3/Artist/Album/Song' but you can file how you choose.

Does Windows 10 Media player not do this, like Win7 did... just fine after switching to MP3 format?
I haven't ripped anything on my Win 10 work rig (and won't run 10 at home yet)... so I am unsure.
