Getting Comcast gigabit internet: Netgear or Arris modem?

We're finishing our move into a new house tomorrow and Comcast offers gigabit internet at that location so I'm going to take advantage, but I'll need to buy a new modem to replace my current Arris 6141, which is only good up to about 340 Mbps. I'm looking at the Arris 8200 and Netgear CM1000, both roughly the same price. Curious if anybody owns either of these modems and can vouch for their performance, as in does either one or both deliver gigabit throughput and does it do so reliably? I'm also doing internet research but first hand reviews are always nice. I've been pleased with my Arris modems in the past.

    TIA

I have the Netgear CM1000 and use it with Wave Broadband's 1000/10 service. Works well. I average upper 800 Mb to lower 900 Mb down and 15 Mb up with 10ms or less latency. Wave still uses docsis 3.0 while Comcast uses docsis 3.1 Comcast will upgrade the firmware of the modem when installed. I don't have the updated firmware or the advanced features that come with the update. Overall, no problems, it just works.
