Recomend a cheap/decent/Temp Dash cam for my rig.

So plan on getting a higher quality dash cam but do not want to spend too much till I have a couple checks rolling in from the new driving job. I want a dash cam to cover my *** just in case. I will be using a different truck every day so can not have a permanent mount or something that will not work well after being placed and removed a couple times. So can not use adhesives and the such. Not sure If I can place anything on the front glass, not sure it is legal to do so in the Truck. So either a Dash mount of some sort or I might be able to mount it to the rear flat window just behind the seat looking forward, but the dash would be better. I am looking for any recommendations on cheap cameras with a decent field of view and at least 720P. A loop function would be nice.
I can search amazon but thought I would check here first. Maybe someone has something they have experience with that would do the job. The camera will have to be running 12hr a day every day. Or till I can buy a better one. Again, it does not have to record 12 hr. A 30 min loop or something like that would do the job. I have not used any dash cams myself so no practical experience with them.
I would even be up for buying a used one for now.

I have used suction cup mounts for old phones that have been decommissioned from Cell-provider use, with the largest MicroSD they support. Old (non current flagship) phone mounts are cheaper once the phones drop from popularity (staple). Old phones (or even used) can be had for less than $100 off eBay...
Might I recommend an LG, with a double-tap to come out of screen-off-standby, as fiddling with a power button in a windshield mount can be a hassle?
A "BAD IMEI" is really of no concern in this situation, if the device is otherwise functional. Something like a LG V10 (16MP) can be had for about $60-$90.
(I have not tried the LG with this, just Motorolas, and my LG V20 the video is saved upside-down (this "feature" might be the way to get you to pay $4.99 the paid version?), but that can be corrected in VLC media player then exported, for evidence, I assume.)
I understand you can only submit 30 seconds of video for evidence, but I am unsure. (Might have to break it up in multiple videos.)

DailyRoads Voyager app, and just tap the screen to save the buffer (just after an accident), as it buffers constantly if set to auto-record when opened. It also monitors jars and jerks, so "theoretically" it will save automagically if an accident occurs. The free version is pretty awesome, for gratis.

The problem with the suction cup is that it falls off constantly in hot months...

With all the OC drivers moving to my area, I should probably start doing this again, as they are REALLY stupid, and have no concern for others, like they don't even know that they are doing, or where they are going...

Not to mention the dumb-kids (SJWs, Millennials, and even their kids) that have a hard time signaling and driving at the same time, as legally required because they are completely selfish, and self-centered.

EDIT: And device can only be legally mounted only in the lower left, or lower right portion of your windshield, it seems:

i drive daily to different cities for a government agency. at times i am required to use a different vehicle. i have had this garmin unit four years and it is outstanding. it records in 1080 day or night, records audio, even when you are standing outside the vehicle. this unit actively records gps location , time and vehicle speed on video. most units do not log GPS. it has a impact sensor, so that if you get hit and are knocked out.....the unit will back up to a prior video clip and lock the clips down so they wont be erased automatically. (it acts like a flight data recorder) this unit comes with two mounts .....one suction for the windshield and a sticky mount for a perm mount. the only draw back for you may be the price.......but for what i am doing........it has been flawlessly covering my ***. three video clips have been requested in several court actions. this garmin unit is exactly what you want . btw.....garmin has taken this platform and has combined it in a new line of gps/dash combo units.

I have a Cobra dashcam. Less than 40 bucks for a refurbished unit on Amazon. I think it's an older model. I use it everyday to and from work. It has built in GPS. Pretty good camera in daylight. Resolution is not good enough to read a license plate unless it is directly in front of you. Not so good at night.

Uses a suction cup to mount. Power supplied by a wire connected to the cigarette lighter. I use a portable battery pack, so I have to manually connect it.

If you download the Cobracam app, you can see the GPS data as a little map off to the side of the video.

I have some footage but can't find it right now. I'll put it up later.
