Its time for a new printer....

So my trusty HP is going.... going... not quite gone...

It is bouncing as if I was plugging in the USB and then unplugging the device.

Sadly it is not a bad USB cable and not worth replacing the NIC.

Long way of asking, What Laser printers do you have at home?

I don't scan, nor print in color... so the Laser Printer seems to be easy as the toner lasts for 5,000 pages and no inkjet ink to dry out...

    any suggestions?
    Coupon codes?

I've used a $50 slickdeals Brother laser printer for the past 5 years for work docs and it hasn't skipped a beat.

You can pick up refurbished HP4000 HP4100 HP4200 and HP4300 very reasonably on ebay.

I use a refurbished 4700 color at home because I got tired of buying ink and I run a whole bank of refurbished 4300s at the office.

I really really like my Epson ecotank ET 3700. I know you said no color but depending on your print habits you won’t have to fill
Upmthe tanks for a very long time. We use ours for photos and school projects and the tanks are not even close to halfway down and we have been using the printer about 6 months. It has been rock solid. No jams. No connectivity issues. Just press the button and out pops prints.

I would say the one slight negative to the printer is it is a bit on the slow side,
Especially when printing double sided. Overall though, no complaints and only positive things to say.

(2 years of ink Are included in the box BTW and refills are far far cheaper than regular ink cartridge replacements ).

I've had great luck with Brother B&W and color laser printers but I don't print enough to justify a color laser anymore even though aftermarket toner is cheap. I'm now that I'm retired I'm using an HP inkjet with a 50 page per month "instant" ink subscription.

Here's a third. This is what I'm getting as my next printer.

I got a Dell 1355CN MFP from work, gratis. All I had to buy was the toner cartridges for about ~$60. The Boss at the time let me take it, but I couldn't justify taking the toner, as it was compatible with other models that were working fine in production.

There was some glitch with our switches were it wouldn't pull DHCP, so I was going to use it USB, but it pulled DHCP fine from all my home hardware.

Apparently there are drivers that let you scan from these over the network, but no CD, and these specific drivers can't be downloaded, just from the CD only, but other than that it works great, and ZERO issues.

It looks like Dell color Lasers are about $185-$199 from Walmart...

Before I retired my office printer was a HP 4520tn. I bought my own duplex attachment. When I retired in 2013 I took the duplexer with me and bought a refurbished 4520tn from GTPRINTERS on Amazon. It came with an extra paper tray and a toner cartridge. Slapped on my duplexer and I am still using the toner cart.

Lexmark MS310. Last printer you will need to buy. Unless you need to scan or print color.

Another vote for a Brother laser, had ours for over five years now and it's great on toner and does pretty much anything you'll need. Don't discount the all in ones you would be surprised how many times we've had to fax something or make a copy and scan something. Comes in handy.
