Just bought a $400. Lenovo M93p for $80

Lenovo M93p mini tower w/ the i5/4570,3.2 Ghz, 8 GB RAM, 500GB HDD
This machine was nearly $4000. retail when it first hit the business market.
It is still advertised at nearly $1000.
I bought it at the Grey Bears Thrift shop, 1/2 price day 2nd Saturday of the month.

I also bought a Dell 9010 Optiplex w/ i7 3770, 3.4 Ghz, 8Gb RAM, 500GB HDD for $85.


For the Lenovo, I spent $40 on a 120 GB SSD drive on Amazon,
& two sticks of Patriot 16GB(2x8GB) Viper III DDR3 1600MHz for $125.
The 8GB stick of Patriot that came in the M93p will go in my current M91p Lenovo & I will sell my other 2 PC for the same price as I paid for these newest purchases.

Just the tag # alone allow me to dL a free Win 10 & Win 7 licensed version from Dell & Lenovo support.

Yes, it works great for my needs, I occasionally enjoy flying simulator, MS Flight Simulator X

yes, that Grey Bears is a great non profit. They get tons of previous gen. office computers & all kinds of other private party electronic stuff.

I was using a Lenovo M91p, i5/2400, 3.1Ghz, 8Gb RAM@1333Mhz,
& a Dell Optiplex 3010, i5/3470, 3.2Ghz, 4Gb RAM, for Linux Mint/Cinnamon,
& an older Dell Vostro 230 as Windows media streamer running KODI.

If it does what you need then it's a great deal. I have never owned a Lenovo desktop but I love their laptops. That's plenty of processor and RAM for most things. Your limitations will be the video port if you are heavy into gaming and poor expandability - typical of most name brand desktop PCs.

If it has a free SATA ports I'd add a good 500GB SSD as your new C: drive. If there are no free ports then I'd just replace your existing drive with an SSD. Add a $10 2.5" to 3.5" adapter and if necessary a drive cloning kit. The result should be a massive boost in boot-up and application loading performance. If you have the space and connections then use the old drive for extra storage (D), or if not - just replace the existing drive.

My work was selling Lenovo T410's-T420's for $100-$150 (varied if they had a lot), but they stopped those sales... I should have JUMPED on it when I had the chance.

Even with a spinning-platter drive, the cost of $200, including an SSD upgrade would have been well worth it for a nice i5 notebook, even with 4GB of RAM.
