First computer I owned was a Commodore 64 with a tape drive.
First program was on a Wang.. on punched cards.

        First PC was a Tandy 1000, 7.14Mhz
Built my own from 1989 until 2014.

No longer gaming, so OTC does everything I need for $500.

              Freakin kids

I ran a BBS on two 5.25 floppies (seriously).
Upgraded (for $600) to a 64meg hard drive. I think I spent $400 on my USR-HST 9600 modem, and that was with the SysOp discount.

The '286-12 that I built had two ST4096 drives (80mb each)

My Commadore had a punch card reader and so did my TI calculator, but I only actually did punch cards in college accounting classes. And one of our offices still uses a Agena server running DOS 3.0. Manager had a fit last month when his dot matrix printer died. He paid a premium to replace it. And one of my Muscle cars is still running fine with the processor out of a PacMan game.

I had an IBM 286 as a kid with only a floppy drive. Wheel of Fortune was a blast. lol I still have the computer to this day. I forgot about it for a decade then found it and thought it might be a collector someday.

TRS-80 Model III w/300baud modem. Got it for free in my senior year at college around 1989, used it to write term paper in LaTEX by phoning into the engineering VaxCluster. Saved quite a few trips walking over to campus.

I probably have more compute power in my Moto Droid now than that entire VaxCluster.

TI 99-4A, cassette drive. Literally a cassette player is what I saved to and loaded from, hitting Play/Record buttons.

Then moved up to Columbia Data 8086 with full height 10MB HDD and MS-DOS, 64k ram. Had to add a Persyst BOB board to get battery backed clock and 256k.

Then came 20MB drives, then RLL 30MB drives, every iteration of 286, 386, 486.

Anyone who started with a 3.2GB drive was way late to the party.
