For older machines, it’s just difficult to justify spending money on the device- hardware or software.

A new Chrome book or dell is just cheap. Reuse the keyboard, mouse and monitor.

If you can’t get rid of files from the computer, I would look at an external drive for data- pics- videos- documents.

Should the computer fail, you just plug the external drive into your new machine.

More RAM and 256GB or larger SSD. Get rid of crapware and unneeded running programs/services - you will have a whole new computer.

Looked your system up on HP https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c01570962

If you upgrade windows to 64bit you can go up to 8g of 1066/1333.

I'd also go with the 256g SSD. This system originally came with 2 500g drives in a RAID configuration

Oh Wow! I have an m9250f, which is virtually the same machine, with a faster processor. Upgrades are CHEAP for this! Don't give up on it, unless you just don't want to mess with it. STILL a great machine.

Here is everything you need to know about it:

Oh, I think I can help you a bit with this.

              Just sent a PM.

OK, thanks for all the replies. For now, I think I'll copy then delete the photos that take up 30% of my hd then go from there.
Any ideas on why some photo's and some video's can't be displayed through internet explorer, but some can be seen if I use the same web site through Mozilla Firefox? My computer, my provider, or ???
