    Fake Amazon Ad

Just noticed that fake Amazon scam Ad was in my Google search today, I remember it around Thanksgiving time but what the hell is doing there again?

If I type amazon in the search it shows up.

The ad appeared at the top of search results for an unknown number of users for at least part of the day Thursday

This is most likely the type of scam that uses foreign ascii characters to register domains. This has been an issue for a while and ICANN is looking into preventing it, however the issue is very complex. Malicious companies still have the ability to make some URLs look legitimate but they are generally taken down pretty quickly.

If you are seeing this very often it is possible you may have a malicious browser plugin, you can test this by trying a different browser as well.

Also you can download many free malware apps out there. Not sure if Malwarebytes has a Windows version but that's a decent one to try and it's free.

How do you know this was a fake ad? I will admit, 'get best deal' is bad english and a red flag.

But Amazon does run these ads on Google. I just did it and the one I see is real.

When you hover over the link, what does the status bar say the destination URL would be (without clicking it).

            The Amazon Ad is legit!

            I see what Skyhawk posted.
I see it all the time depending on what I am searching for. I clicked on it and went to Amazon.

I never click when it says "Ad". I just look in the search body.

Notice that your ad and mine are 2 different style ads.
At the time I posted it, It was a fake ad, It was a hijack your computer kinda virus thing starts talking to you that all your files will be frozen and such. I'm not a computer dude. I reported down at the bottom of the page and it went away.

And when I hovered over it it was a whole bunch of jibberish in the destination URL

I love that after all these years google still lets fake scam sites advertise through google AdSense. Have they been sued for this yet?
