    Kind of cutting the cord

I'm moving and have decided not to take DirecTV with me. Thinking of going with DirecTV Now or Spectrum Stream or Playstation Vue or Hulu Live. Anyone have any of these and an opinion. Doing it for Sports. I know sling TV is available but I like channel surfing sometimes.

I cut cable for a few years, got directv again because it was a low price promotion but I plan to drop it when the contract is over.

I use netflix, amazon prime, a friends hbo go account, and I put up an antenna that picks up over 150 channels so I still get the local channels and sports. Anything else you want can be found on kodi or even just live streams online if you want to watch a particular game or something, just search the game + reddit and youll find current links to live streams- plug the laptop into the tv and viola

YouTube tv 35/month think it's going up to 45 though if u sign up after a certain date. They have lots of sports channels. Just added nba and mlb tv also.
For 35 I like it. Don't know if I'd do it for 45.

When you call directv to close out your service, they may make you an offer such as a flat rate of $38 a month, just be ready for that if that is something you might want to stay wired for.

As long as you have a great Internet service, you do not need cable. There are so many options. I have shty internet so it is not an option for me. But.. I did get DirecTv to drop my bill from $145 a month to $45 a month by trying to cancel my service. I was just going to go with antenna. They were getting me all set up to close my account, giving me info on how to send my equipment back etc then said, you know, if you like..(I think she was feeling me out to see if I was serious about closing my account or someone fishing for a price cut, I assume if they think you are just looking for a price drop they may just give you a couple bucks off) then offered me a flat rate of like $38 a month, no increases in price and no equipment fees just to stay on. Price guaranteed for at least a year and no contract or obligation. I think they dropped a couple channels but none that I noticed. I figured, what they hell Ill keep it for that, with state taxes etc it comes out to $45 a month. I can still live without it but the kids like the toons. and my net cannot stream. I am out in the country on Sat net. But If I had city internet, wired high speed unlimited net? I would drop cable in a heartbeat. I already have a firestick I wanted to try out.

All those others are the same stupid channels. Either it comes down a cable, satellite, or internet. I cant support a boatload of crappy channels playing the same crappy programming.
Get good internet, one america news network, then hulu or netflix, good to go. Screw them and go play with your dog or read a good book, its way more relaxing

I use Northland Cable. Can't get away from it. Just internet, and my wife likes Hulu, and Netflix. No cable TV.

I'm not fond of cable companies, but it has the best internet around here, it's fast, and no data cap. It's also $75/month.
This is important, because of the large number of files I move on a day-to-day basis.

DirecTV Now...I have over 100 channels for $35/mo. I think that plan is $60/mo now. It works great on all of my devices. I've even used it on flight using the in-air wifi. I tried Sling and YouTube TV...hated both...poor channel selection and bad interface.

Switch to a IPTV account, Gears tv, Reloaded Tv, or Set tv. Plenty of reviews on youtube.
