    Unlimited Data Plans

A number of companies are starting to offer lower cost unlimited data plans. The problem is, if you read the fine print you may be subject to throttling. Who's switched to such a plan recently and have you been subject to throttling? Do you live in a metro or rural area? The assumption is the metro areas would have a busier network and could be throttled at busy times.

    Thanks.

I switched to a lower unlimited plan from Simple Mobile (T-Moble). On a $40 plan now getting 6GB fast, rest slow. I was on the $50 plan when it was 2GB=$50 than went to 3GB=50, its now Unlimited=50, I am under 3GB a month user so decided to save 120 a year.

How much data do you use every month?

I'm on T-Mobile unlimited and that gets me 30G before I get "de-prioritized" on a crowded tower. When I was using 60-80G/mo I noticed it in town and certain other crowded areas.

For the money, T-Mobile gives you the most data.

I run TMobile. It's my only internet. I burn 150 GB a month. No throttling. I have their top tier so unlimited 4g tethering.

The slow down for data hogs is in the normal print of my Tmobile contract. If you are in the top 5% of users I think, you can get slowed down if the tower gets crowded.
