Gigabyte is good...looked it up, looks like a decent mobo.

Please make sure to buy a good power supply and very high quality ram and a great heak sink.

Graphics card will be a big expense for a decent gamer.

right now graphics cards are extremely overpriced thanks to the recent explosion in cryptocurrency mining. A vega 56 should be around 300 bux but it's listing around 600 right now. A 1080 is a better value, but still pretty expensive at 450-500. If someone can wait a few months I recommend it, as the prices are just overboard right now

I agree, but in recent years the technology has been static.

I've got an i5-4570 with a really crappy mini ITX ASUS H81i PLUS

Still can barely justify upgrading to the new i5-8600k, besides the desire to build a new rig for RGB.

In fact, that's the only reason I even have ARs.
