DVD drive for Chromebook?

Can I do this and actually play a dvd? If so, how?

Install VLC from the Web Store and then plug in an external DVD drive via USB.

I just tested it and it works, but you won't get the DVD menus or chapters. You'll have to play the individual video segments by clicking on them. There doesn't seem to be any way to queue them up in a playlist. It's not ideal, but it does allow you to play the DVD.
