The Imgur app sucks

Like so many recently, had to find an alternative to Photobucket.

Downloaded the Imgur app, and while it is easy to upload pics, it is impossible to get the correct link for image hosting unless you access through a browser.

This is the one thing Photobucket did right IMHO.

Anyhow.....just a PSA. Don't bother with the Imgur app, it is more of an idiotic social media photo sharing thing than an image hosting app. Stick with browser access.

I been using TinyPic for a while now and I used it not too long ago, it's always works fine for me.

It's easy, simple and you don't need an app.

I have been using/am satisfied with Tinypic too although I haven't accessed it via my Smartphone, only my laptop. Am wondering how much longer Tinypic will be available for free as it is owned by the same company that owns Photobucket.

Long press on the image itself and select copy link.
Or you can tap the image and click the icon that looks like an inbox with an arrow pointing up out of it too.

This works 100% on iOS, the Android version may be slightly different but the functionality is there somewhere. I'd expect it to be similar, so try long press first.

I am on an Android phone.

I tried the long press.....doesn't work. Opens up a box where the only option is to "copy link" or "save image". The link is one that takes you to the Imgur page instead of a hosted IMG link.

I also clicked the share button, and the only linkk option it gives me is the same one as above.

It seems that Imgur is trying to make it so that people are steered to their website.

I have deleted the app and am just going to access it through a browser, it is easy to get the IMG links that way.

Are you looking for the embed links (with [ IMG ] tag already present) or just the direct link to the image itself? Because I can definitely get the direct link with a long press / copy link on iOS, but I can't get the embed links on mobile either. Sorry if my post was confusing.

Give Imgur an decent try

It is what I have used for year for flea bay auctions and uploads to cal guns
