I'm an IT guy since '96 after I blew out a knee as a tile setter. I make a point of accessing certain websites through my phone hotspot as not to expose my home IP address. As far as personal data is concerned, your ISP will now be the biggest snoop. You can use a VPN connection to prevent this, but it is a pain and you are in mixed company. In the very near future the use of IPv4 addressing while finally switch over to IPv6 and everything on the planet will have an IP identifier. Today is Net Neutrality day, which is protesting the big ISP's from having an unfair advantage in controlling what type of media and companies get the most bandwidth. I see a bigger picture in which the US is trying not to lose supremacy of the internet. Also the cable companies are getting slammed by streaming services. Bottom line, if you want to protect your privacy you may want to start accessing the majority of your non-streaming internet use through your wireless provider. Verizon, my wireless provider created something called a "super cookie", trying to get as much user demographics as possible. So when using a phone hotspot as your internet connection, remember to set your browser to refuse cookies. For searches I like to use a search engine called Duck Duck Go. They don't track anything you search for. As far as loan companies go, most would be out of business if they got audited. If you want to get a loan, ask for the loan company's privacy policy. If the loan officer has any issue or hesitates, find another loan broker.
