Use your original CDs. Not mp3s like all these calgunners suggest.

Your fancy speakers are worth nothing if all the originally intended frequencies are cut out and you are listening to music made to be heard through ear buds.

Especially important with classic rock music recorded analogue. No, the cd cannot produce the frequencies of tape or vinyl, but they are significantly better than mp3

After having read the posts carefully, it looks like you went digital. No problem. Just download .wav files. Not mp3's to your usb drives and you'll be able the actually hear The Doobie Brothers.

Totally. Duh. 128kbps MP3's are so 1993! Use Redbook audio and don't look back!

Dood, some people just want tunes in their old car because the CD changer broke.

                .WAVs are so 2000.

FLACs are lossless, sound exactly the same, and take up less space. But in reality, darn few car speakers are good enough and the cabins quiet enough to hear the difference between 256bit MP3s and a CD. A really good home systems - yes, good headphones - yes. But very few cars. The difference is pretty subtle.

My music is ripped to an old school 160gb iPod I bought used off eBay. It's buried in my center console and always charging when the engine's running. Works perfectly.
