problems with LG g4 phone..

Long story short, my wife has a LG g4 and has suddenly died on her and seems to be in a boot up loop..phone is less than 2 years old and recently started acting up by freezing up and some screen glitching....
tmobile tec support tried the hard boot up but that didnt work.. they referred us to LG tec support and they werent helpful either...they suggested to send it in for a refurb...

So, does anyone have any suggestions to get this thing back up and running...
tried everything i can think of i.e. field stripping it, and re assembly

I had the same thing happen to mine. It was listening to Spotify in my car through my phone and the phone suddenly shut off. Hope you can fix it. I did tons of google searches to try and find a solution. I tried everything but nothing worked. Most of the people that had this problem could not fix the problem either. Pretty much SOL. Sorry.

You can try rooting and flashing if possible, otherwise your device needs to be replaced.

Well as of now, it will not power on... since it was sold in ca , kill switch? Lol jokingly we asked tmobile if it was a possible cause and the rep got real serious and said that there was no way for them to tell if its been activated and they can not comfirm or discomfirm that this was the issue... ( her phone was red flagged about a month ago and internet service was denyed..customer service had no explanation why it was flagged, so they removed the restriction) ....
so i guess she will send it in for an forensic data analysis, i mean refurb..

rooting it should solve your issue. It will have to be plugged into a computer to do this and power on. Make sure you use the correct file for both the phone model and the service provider.

I recently went through the same problem. The issue is a manufacturing defect with the solder that connects the processor to the motherboard. The phone gets hot after watching videos or processing a lot of data and over time the solder weakens to the point where it looses connection and you get stuck in a boot loop.

The phone is done for, you'll need to replace it, insurance and trade in might work if you haven't gotten it wet ever.

If you need to pull files off of the phone that you haven't already backed up, look up the baking method. I was able to successfully bake my motherboard and get it running for about 2 hours before it kicked the bucket.

That happened to me too with my LG G4. I called the provider and was told it was a known problem and they gave me a new (factory refurb) phone. It was shipped within 36 hours...I had to ship the dead phone back but they provided a free shipping voucher.

Also happened to my g4 with Verizon. Tried soft and hard reset. Nothing worked. Verizon sent me a refurb phone.

Mine was barely a year old and it did the boot loop so it was out of warranty but with documentation and reporting it to lg of the boot loop issue they sent me a prepaid shipping label. Turn around time was bout 1 week and 3 days. Soon as it got there they sent it out with a changed out mother board.

Well just send it off to lg... looks like they are going to replace it with their warranty... meh. :/

This is exactly the problem.

There is a lawsuit for this same exact issue. However I cannot share it with you because I've been sent a cease and desist letter from LG and the attorney who is in charge of it. I don't know why LG and the lawyers don't want to let this be known, maybe because the more people in on it will cut into their profits?
