    win 7 reboot & updates ?

So I've rebooted old win 7 Pc from 6-7 year old disks. (Got w/this Pc)

But needing update for some programs (WMP)

Can just these be had without a chance of getting win 10 back in there, as this was my problem & pushing me to reboot back to 7.

And how would I procure these updates ?

Can I flashdrive these updates in as this Pc will no longer be connected to net.

    Thanks folks for any assitance.

I did this exact same thing and the PC would not update other than three or four items. This is a Dell laptop running Windows 7.

Even checking for updates it would not connect, acknowledge or load anything even though it all ran just fine.

Three weeks ago I left it on connected to the wireless. Checking later I saw it was downloading 192 updates.

Windows 10 did not load so it is still GTG with 7.

The Win10 free upgrade ended July 29, 2016. Even then, you had to have had the Get Windows 10 application installed. Without the application, it shouldn't install unless you explicitly reinstall 10.

Thanks Iron & Nyt for that.

I have no plan to install security on this Pc (win7).

Will I be safe to hook up net an not open anything as I wait for these updates ?

        Thanks again

You should be fine. Just don't use it while the updates are happening.

You don't have to wait for the updates to happen, if that's what you meant by waiting. You can use the Windows Update tool in the Control Panel to proactively run them.
