Bought it on eBay for $29.99 (Spytec has their own eBay account), activated 1 month for $24.95 (can deactivate at any time, no contract). It was brand new, not a refurb best I could tell.
Tested it out first and it was pretty accurate, giving location updates every 60 seconds.
I setup geofences at my property, the 2 major roads in and out, and also the major freeway on ramps and the major cities here in The Bay. Text and email alert the moment it goes in or out of any of those zones.
Dropped it in my safe and was able to monitor it using their mobile app. Granted it was stationary the whole time, left for vacation for 10 days and the battery (without movement obviously) was still at approx 40% when I returned home. It claims 2 week standby, but once movement begins it's location updated every 60 seconds or less depending on the service plan you pay for.
Anyways, just some added security and piece of mind, I know you guys have different layers of security, and here's another one you can look into if you ever go on a vacation and want to be alerted if your safe moves.
Worked for me, YMMV.
