Looking for Surface Pro 4 reviews....

I'm hoping some CalGunners own a Surface Pro 4 and could shade their thoughts about the device. I've read reviews on tech sites but wanted to hear what a user thought. I'm thinking about the i5 model for work. My work consists mostly of excel spreadsheets, doing construction drawing take-offs (large PDF files) and emailing. Nothing too crazy. Costco has them for a fair price bundled with a keyboard/case and pen.

If you have one and wouldn't mind telling me if you like or hate it please share. Thx-

I like mine. You're gonna want external screens for Excel. Surface dock works great for that.

I use a Surface Pro 4 for my only system, desktop and portable. I am in email all day, heavy MS Project, MS Excel, and MS Word use. I have the surface pro keyboard and it works fine for me most of the time, but occasionally, I will use my full size keyboard if I am really doing a lot of writing. I also use the Surface Dock and have an external monitor. I couldn't do 3/4ths of my work without the larger screen. Over all. it is functional. I really like my wife's HP Spectre though and would probably choose that over my surface. Just my $.02!

I have one and use it when I'm on the road. Docking station and keyboard is a must. Better than the tablet I was using before.

The new pro 5 is supposed to be unveiled soon. When that happens and the price of the 4 drops I think I'll snag one. Hope it happens sooner than later...

I have a Surface Pro 3 and I love it. If I had waited a little longer, I would have bought a 4. I really like the form factor. It suits my need perfectly, especially when used with Windows 10 and touch screen features.

I've purchased 8 Surface Pro 4's so far for people in my company. They were i5's with 8 gigs ram and a 256G SSD.

Great lightweight tablet. If I were you I'd buy the accidental damage plan. We had one user somehow shatter their screen. If I had not had the accidental damage plan I (the company) would have had to fork out another $450 (I think that was the number). Microsoft does not repair these tablets. They outsource them and then send you a refurbished tablet.

Also, if you want to use a secondary monitor, make sure you get the Microsoft branded mini-DVI to VGA (or) HDMI adapter cable. I tried 3 or 4 non/Microsoft branded adapter cables and we had nothing issues with the display "blinking" every minute or so.
