Depending on the age of the laptop there should be a space reserved on the board for Microsoft validation for the windows version that it came with. Try downloading an official copy from Microsoft.

If you did not create a recovery disk from hidden partition of your HDD before the crash, and have also lost the recovery disks that came with the laptop, your only recourse will be to contact Toshiba and see if they will let you download a copy of the recovery disk.

Sometimes it is not worth the effort and can be easier to just go get yourself a new SSD and a copy of Windows 10.

Ebay has lots of them. What O/S you running? I may be able to mail you one. No charge.

If you have a Windows serial/product key at the bottom (providing that it is Win7 or later, unknown about Windows 10, as I have had issues with 10's activation, more than any other) you might be able to use any disk that matches your flavor (7 Home Premium, Windows 7 Pro, Windows 7 Ultimate, etc.) and use that disk to fixboot, or even reinstall clean-ish. This is all assuming that the drive isn't toast. If it is seen in UEFI, or BIOS, that is at least a start...
