    Help with smaller laptop features.

    Hello all,

Mostly I surf the internet with videos, forums, picture editing ect. The trouble I am having with my brand new Samsung https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1 is when scrolling down a page there is a huge lag. Photobucket is awful. It is similar with youtube videos. The damn thing is just laggy and slow. On an impulse and wanting to try an Apple product I got https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Do you think this is a good choice?? Please don't flame. I rode the small bus to school

I"m not sure if you are serious, but you are comparing the performance of a chromebook (and a cheaper one at that) to a Macbook Air which has a full fledged laptop processor and graphics chip....

Yes the Macbook air is going to be better. It should be. You could have waited for a sale and picked up a Win laptop with an i3 or i5 processor for $300-500 bucks and saved yourself some money and gotten the same performance.

Still, you paid the premium so you may as well enjoy it. It's a nice laptop.

(I am not a hater. I have a macbook Air also. However, I would not buy one if my starting point was a sub $200 chromebook and I was trying to save some money).

In any case, enjoy the macbook. It should do whatever you need it to do. And it is definitely nicely put together, higher quality and small and light.

BTW, there are chromebooks with better processors (i3, i5) for under $500 as well, if you want to stick to the chrome-verse... those should run everything you want to do just fine as well.

Your Chromebook is fine for web surfing and basic word processing or watching Netflix. It's not powerful enough for video editing or even smooth photo editing, and it wasn't meant to be. It was intended to be as cheap as possible for students, with just enough power for a student to watch Netflix or write a term paper.

Your Apple is a nice little laptop, a bit pricey but nice. For a bit less money I'd have probably gone with a 14" i7 powered Lenovo Yoga 710 (use coupon code SPRINGSALE for sale price), or a 15" i7 Yoga 710 (coupon code Y7PC749) also a bit less than the Apple. I'm not a big Apple fan but your Apple should serve you very well.

whos going to flame you for buying over prices apple stuff. this is often why people think apple is better they get a super cheap crappy laptop and wonder why its not as good as a laptop 4x+ the price.
