Need replacement for Firefox browser that will dump W-XP soon?

Now that Firefox has announced that it will no longer support Win-XP soon, what else is available? (Chrome and MS-Explorer are already dead)

I searched Google and saw one named "Lunascape" but know nothing about it.

I am not familiar with Apple's Safari for Win-XP either. (...the last Apple stuff I had was an Apple llc and lle back in the dark ages).

Thanks for any insight on a possible XP compatible browser.

    Respectfully
    Kyle

slimbrowser is small. It might be what you want.

It looks like you'll still receive security updates for Firefox at least until September of this year, when Mozilla will re-assess whether they will continue supporting XP.

According to the blog post you should be moved to the Extended Support Release version of Firefox, and you'll continue to receive security updates until September.

Personally I wouldn't trust my credit card, browsing history, and password information to obscure browsers like Lunascape. It may be time to upgrade your operating system.

If money is an issue and you have no allegiance to Windows then Linux is a great alternative.

Linux Mint is a great alternative to Windows and is very easy for Windows users to transition to.

I make my living managing microsoft software, it's been very good to me.

That said, I am in the process of switching our home pc's to Ubuntu Mate. And my workpla e showx o intention of upgrading beyond Win 7.

Should tell you something. Win XP was ok in its day but is now dangerously obsolete and most newer versions are full of hidden back doors. Linux is now mature enough to be a viable transition for most people who can deal with a modest learning curve.

Yes, due to some proprietary software and a couple of other do-dads that we don't want to retire yet.

You do know that even with a firewall your wide open to hacking?

There are so many options these days.

You can run your old software from Emulators.

i need to move from firefox due to the no support of java, which while everyone says java is obsolete, all websites still use java....

i probably also need to do a fresh install of my vista machine cause it is just bogging down now.... just have to find my disc and key before i start and also d/l all the necessary basic drivers to usb.

If it doesn't need to be on the network, get it off. If you need to browse, get another computer.

I run specialize software on a XP system but it has no internet connection.

Just use another computer for surfing.

Replace your OS not your browser. Run XP in a VM for your proprietary software.
