I doubt Dianne Frankenfeinstein ever said that quote.

^ Multi-core performance is decent on Ryzen and x.264 encoding benchmarks are good. Waiting to see if Supermicro comes out with a dual CPU board for Ryzen. 32 logical cores would make a beast of a headless streaming server.

But it does offer a good value alternative. Still not quite an Intel killer.

x.265 does look nice at lower bit rate than x.264 but unfortunately Nvidia's (nvenc) encoder doesn't support it.

In 10 years, what will have more residual value?

                      1911 or PC?

How much more can I make with that chipset over my current one???

Clearly you have no clue how the technology and PC speculation markets work. I purchased an Alienware PC for $1500 four years ago. I recently flipped it for $250. I stood in an all night long line to get the Droid X2 on release date. Paid $399, and just recently flipped it on Craigslist for $35.

Good luck trying to get that kind of ROI with gold or oil or frozen concentrated orange juice. I guess not everyone can be Gordon Gekko.
