most any ood quality router should do the trick. pending your needs.
just one room? how about wired?
    many rooms. tv. etc.

happy with my netgear 3700, it does my whole house (1K sq foot, and does the detached garage yard no problem.
just plan on crumcast to double your bill soon.
was paying only $29.95. now it is up to $65.00usd. (web access only).

I switched from ATT to Charter. Charter had a list of recommended routers that are compatible with their modem on their website so I went to Amazon and looked at the reviews. Picked up this ASUS dual band.

Kids were home from college during the Christmas break with their iPhones and laptops. Two smart TV's with Amazon Firesticks, 5 iphones, 4 laptops all using wifi without any lags or buffering issues. The kids will watch TV, text on their phones, and use their laptops at the same time. Our Charter connection is pretty fast. Just ran speedtest.net but it's just me today. 64.92 Mbps up and 5.96 Mbps down.
