Return to shop you bought them from for replacement, or warranty repair from Samsung? -
2 similar problems.
Hello everyone! I have a Samsung LN40B500P3FXZA that will not power on. No Power LED, and no leaky Caps. I disconnected the Mainboard and the back light did not power on. I suppose the next step would be to check the Mosfets and Bridge Rectifier? I'm just not sure exactly how to go about that? There was also a residue on#NotMyPresident

Both are out of warranty unfortunately, but they may earn themselves a nice M62 hole if this keeps up m80 would be too easy

Replace them anyway, even if there are no apparent signs of failure (the TV acting the way it does is sign enough). I got a free TV from my work with this issue that also had the "white dot" issue. Instead of fixing it I sold it to a prop company for $200.OK I've got two LCD TVs one a slightly older 40" LN40B500P3FXZA and the smart TV model UN46F6400AFXZA 50" Both of these pos have developed the same problem after some time of use turn off and turn on sometimes stay on or just continue the cycle and won't stop without a good swift kick in *** or unplugging the unit. I was taught never to make a threat unless you are prepared to carry it out and I am not a fan of carrying anything. Even watching other people carrying things makes me uncomfortable. Mainly because of the possibility they may ask me to help.Comment

Marauder2003's answer is on the money. When my LN32A450C10XZA quit I looked on the web and found the Samsung bad cap problem. There was even Youtube videos for diy repair. I was ready to order new capacitors when I remembered my soldering skills suck. Found a local shop that replaced the caps for not too much money. Bad caps don't always swell up.Last edited by skyking9876; 01-05-2017, 1:28 AM.Comment

My Samsung plasma had a similar problem. From watching some Youtube videos, it turned out to be a couple of capacitors. I watch a video of how to fix it.
I ordered the capacitors, took out the computer boards, soldered out the old ones, soldered in the new ones and the TV has been good as new for the last two years.
Parts cost only $14.sigpicComment

I had to swap out capacitors on my old samsung. It lasted another 5 years then the chip gave out. I think it was going to cost more for a chip and that's when I saw best buy insignia tvs for like 300 bucks. Plus the energy star rating was way better, uses 1/4 the electricitysigpicComment

The TV's I hear about blowing power supply boards most often are Vizio's sometimes a couple years old. I had one do that too, but it ran for quite a while... five+ years. The oldest TV I have is a SONY that I've moved everywhere with me and it is still running great. I don't even think it has LED's.Comment

Go Sony next time.Comment
