    Samsung Gear S3

Wasn't much into smart watches until they started to look like real watches and the S3 looks real enough for me. Anyone have one? Thoughts?

I've got the S2 and it wears great. I like the always on updates that the S3 has and may upgrade some day.

I owned a Gear S2 Classic w/LTE and traded it in for a T-Mobile Gear S3 Frontier w/LTE so maybe I can help. First, before I get to the good parts, let me point out that most smart watch functions aren't all that useful to most people. A good fitness band is a better fitness tracker, and a dumb watch is just as good a watch and doesn't require nightly charging, and notifications can be delivered to your wrist via a $40 Martian Notifier smart watch. Most of the other functions (music player, RSS reader etc) are there just to show off to friends and useless to me because they either eat battery or are too small to read.

That said, in my opinion, the killer feature of the S3 is fully functional Samsung Pay (the S2's is crippled). It's more secure than pulling out the plastic and more convenient than pay by phone, and hey it's cool to be able to just wave your watch to pay.

I use the watch function but only time, day, date, and the battery tracker. I also like the sleep tracker, the weather app, and it's nice to be able to use my S3 (LTE version) as a phone in a pinch (using LTE can eat battery). I got about 18-30 hours of light usage out of my S2, that increased to 2+ days with my S3. Is it worth $400? Not really and without Samsung Pay I wouldn't bother, but I do like that function a lot.
