    Virus pop up ?

    Running windows 10.
I open my facebook page, this also happened to my wife the other day.
We get this pop up and have to open task manager to get it to go away.
Looks like macafee is not doing its job.
What is this and how do I stop it ?

looks like 1 of those hard-to-get-rid-of pop ups from spam sites.
Question to ask yourself -- what site were you browsing when this happened?
    Don't go there anymore.

Also, check your browser settings for pop-up blocking or install a pop-up blocker extension.

Was on Face Book, neither of us go to questionable web sites.
She mosty just uses facebook for farm town and messenger.
I go to mostly firearm web sights and you tube to watch music videos and tech stuff.
I do click on some of the facebook things that look like they are something funny to watch, could it come from that ?

But mostly how do I get this off my computer ?
This is a brand new computer, less than a month old.

Use Malwarebytes for starters it should stop the site from loading. And grab Adblock plus and use it also. Be careful I did a search for the url you provided which is amazon cloud service but one of the virus removal sites was blocked as malware site. Both are free programs Malwarebytes also offers premium which IMHO is well worth.

I think I pay $25 a year for Malwarebytes which covers all my computers. Nothing has ever made it past it.

Does that happen when you go to any website as soon as you open the web browser? Or does it happen on a particular webpage? If the former, something is installed/loaded on your computer. You don't have to go to dubious sites to get malware, often times a lot of "viral" video or "clickbait" things you see posted on facebook get passed around and have malicious scripts on the webpages. Make sure you keep your windows patches up to date and always use the latest version of the web browser. Try clearing your Java cache to see if it goes away

Whatever you do don't call the numbers or send payments to anything requested. These scams are very clever in making things look "official" and intimidating to people who don't know better

Honestly a lot of the common family friendly sites that have webgames are a common source of this crap. Because these viruses need to be packaged into something the person downloads and runs, so usually they get bundled with games, music files, etc. General rule of thumb is always be suspicious of links asking you for "updates" and "downloads", check to make sure the window is actually from a recognized program or your Windows operating system, and not a cleverly designed browser pop-up

                This ^^
Pop up blocker software just hides the problem doesn't fix it. It's most likely an add in within your browser typically Malwarebytes will find it and remove it. A browser reset will help if it disables the add in correctly.

Usually a pop up like that isn't a sign of malware infection, it's just a website which is coded to display that pop up when you browse to it. It does look freaky, and usually blocks you from doing anything else in the browser so you think you're stuck. Best thing you can do is NOT click ANY button in the pop up, but press ALT+F4 to immediately close the active window, which should be your browser. If it's not, open Task Manager (right click on task bar) and force close the browser that way. Then don't revisit the same site.

Oops! it seems you are infected with kind of adware. It seems you are facing this issue on Edge browser. I recommend you to reset your browser (check this tutorial to reset browser, follow PowerShell method which is effective than other methods)

If possible install a good firewall software along with antivirus( I use comodo internet security. If you are comfortable with the user interface I recommend Comodo as it is free)

Also, make sure that you are visiting facebook from www.facebook.com.
In the screenshot, it seems that you are getting the popup window from a spammy site amazonaws.com.

I don't know how much you are familiar with the use of computers and internet, please refer this article about internet security guidelines from NCI.

CTRL+SHIFT+ESC will open task manager without mousing around.

It's a ransomware or scam site. Here's the likely drill if you call them. They talk you into letting them "fix" your PC remotely, then they dig around, install a keylogger, or otherwise compromise your system. Maybe install ransomware for later.

It's a low-tech social engineering hack. Use Chrome, use the Adblock and Ghostery extensions.
