Well, i finally killed the S4, and now i am running an s7

I had a rooted s4 forever that i loved, i had a wireless hotspot app installed when i rooted it. I kept my unlimited data, but now i cant find a hotspot app.

I have an email out to the guys who rooted the s4, but in the meantime, anyone have a hotspot app that works on verizon?

    Thanks.

    Answered my own question.

FoxFi premium, about $8, one time fee, and I'm surfing my hotspot now.

Glad to hear it's a good bet. $8 is $8.

I just went from my original S4 to the Pixel. Probably would have gotten the S7 if it was the same size as the S4.

It converts your phone to a wifi hotspot, then you can tether tablets, other phones, laptops, etc. I have unlimited data, so I watch Netflix or whatever I want.

I surf on an iPad, so I just open the hotspot and put the phone away. Great for vacations and travel, its way faster than hotel wifi.

Just got an S7 this week, be aware if you use those ballistic glass screen protectors, that EVERY SINGLE ONE will leave a gap of like 1/16" around the edges, because the screen is very slightly curved, unlike the S6. I was pretty disappointed when I got mine on. It's only $8 or so but I'm still trying for a refund, it looks terrible and anything that's on the seam is iffy when you try and touch it.

Edit: hah...I was going to post a screenshot to show what I was talking about but realized just before taking it that duh...screenshot...won't show the screen protector and it's seam...time for more coffee.

For what it is worth, I have not found a glass screen protector that truly covers the front of S7.
Also, if you buy the international version of the phones (I use the G930F) they have the stock android hotspot function built in, no (well, not much) bloat wear and relatively quick updates (not Pixal quick, but fast for Samsung).

Interesting. I was going to post that mine isn't curved, but upon closer inspection, it may be, but the screen protector I got at Costco is slightly smaller than the screen in all directions, meaning it apparently stops before the curve starts, and is flush around the perimeter.

I will dig out the case at home and post what kind it is.

How did you activate the s7 and keep your unlimited data? I'd like to replace my s4.
