The next iPhone is probably going to be OLED. That alone would be a reason to wait 6 more months if you were planning on going iOS.

FWIW I have used both platforms a lot and I have no cultish loyalty to either. I currently use an iPhone 6S plus and it is great. The Galaxies are very good too. I find for me the battery life on the iPhone is vastly superior. The App and music options are more controlled but they also work very well.

The looser OS of the Android and the mods and such are overblown talking points because I don't believe the average user heavily mods their device. Plus I think Apple OS interface is cleaner and faster in most cases.

By the wayI do think the build quality of some Galaxy phones suck. The flimsy plastic shell around the charging port is easy to crack with regular use. The camera and sound quality of the current iPhone I have is much higher than my previous Note 4.

Anyway, both are good. The removable battery and expandable memory of Samsungs are a huge upside, yet I still currently prefer my iPhone

        iPhone 7 vs Galaxy S7

        Idk..

To catches yourself on fire or to not catch yourself on fire. Jk. You might be fine.

I have been a basic b**** and have apple laptop and phone. I currently have a 7s Plus.
Androids give you that "tech/custom" capability if that's what you want.

iPhones IMO are safer and more user friendly for the average Joe.

But, if you are a member of the infamous hacker group 'Anonymous' or equivalent, I would recommend an android.

          Google Pixel XL?
          Or wait for Galaxy S8.

The I-Phone 7 does have good battery life. But I cannot stand the apple user interface. I enjoy the back button and quick menu button to rotate between applications on the Galaxy Phones. I also find Apple phones much harder to adjust settings quickly and more expensive to fix if there's an issue. Also forget adding storage to an apple phone. If you buy the lowest level Galaxy phone, you can buy a $20 memory card and exceed the storage space a top of the line apple phone. If you want that kind of storage space with an apple phone, you need to be ready to fork out an extra 200-300$ for that actual $20 worth of storage space. What a scam. I just cant get over how bad they are bending people over for more storage space. Apple products are the designer cell phone. I don't fall for the peer pressure or drink the kool-aid.

I have a Galaxy S5 and all of a sudden about a week ago, I a serious itch to go get a new phone. You know the type of itch you get on your foot when you're wearing lace up boots and you try to use a pen to scratch it but the pen isn't long enough and you just get the pen cap stuck inside your boots type itch(it was that bad!!!!). When I was at the store, I was just not all that impressed with the S7 and I-Phone 7. They're both without a doubt better than my phone, but not enough for me to buy them. I'm holding out for the new S8. Also if your phone service provider requires you to make monthly payments on the phone, I was told by the sales person that when the new phones come out, the monthly payment for the new phone will remain the same and the monthly payment for the previous generation phones will decrease. So if you're willing to wait 4 more months for the S8 to be released, you could save money on an S7 or get the S8 for the same price as the S7 you would buy now. The unofficial release date for the S8 is April 18th but the rumor mill is saying it might be sooner.

There's a good chance the battery in your S6 has diminished the half life of its cells. A new battery for $16 off Amazon could hold you over until April if its that drastic. I'm on my second battery with my S5 and it made a huge improvement.

And I'd have to agree with some other posts in here. I-Phones are a one pedal wonder. I see them as phones for the technologically inept and have more safe guards to make them idiot proof.

I love my S7 and get great battery life. However, I manage my battery life by charging my phone in the car to and from work and when at home just to keep it topped off. I get a good 8 hours at work including web surfing and videos while I eat lunch and rarely go below 85%.

What does come up short is the 32gb of onboard storage. I have a 200GB SD card in mine but some apps will only use main storage. For that reason alone, I'll likely upgrade to an S8 with lots of onboard storage (rumors say 64 & 128GB options) and a huge microSD card once the first reviews are out. I'd tough it out until April, the rumored release date.
