Who else has been having problems with their 'puter not booting, after downloading the update?

I've been suffering through this the past 3 weeks, and Microsoft support keeps telling me that the problem isn't from their end, despite the hundreds of people stating otherwise.

I blocked Win10 updates....happy as a clam!

Put your windows x to a metered connection mode. All the tattleware turns off. The advert downloads for lock screen turn off. The applet push feature turns off. Updates go into manual mode. Cortana enters a strange idle state that allows Windows to function normally but those invasive features go completely inactive.
