I did. The laptop runs a clone, the desktop uses it as a monitor. The desktop is what will be hooked up to the tv

CA DOJ BOF stance on modifying handguns only applies to dimensionally compliant bolt-action single-shot pistols and dimensionally compliant break-open single-shot pistols.

If I recall correctly, if the IGP chipset (your video driver) is too old to support higher resolutions, then you're suck with whatever its maximum is. Check on dell's website for the latest video drivers (update) to see if a higher resolution is supported.

Also, if you're "duplicating display" on both the TV and the computer, it'll only max out on the computers monitor, which may be lower than what the TV can display. Try "extending desktop" or simply disabling the other monitor.

Another thing to consider, is snapping a pic of the motherboard, I did a quick google search and I think I found the mobo of your model dell, and it looks like it has a couple PCEx8 slots for a video card. You might be able to find a cheap video card for it, but i'm not sure if spending $50 just to use your TV as a monitor.
