    Anyone use a dash cam?

I am thinking about getting a dash cam for my truck. Fortunately I have not experienced any issues like some of the dash cam footage from Russia!

    It may be overdue.

Been trying to settle on one myself, but many seem to have issues, mostly heat related, & in Ca that's not so good.

You'll notice on many reviews there from UK not & real hot over there.

If someone has had good luck with one (in CA heat) I'd really like to hear about it.

I have a cobra 820. Great clarity both day and night. Auto start and stop. Rolling record with first in first out.

I live in central ca, close to the valley. Summers over 100+ winters freezing and below.

No problems with cam so far (knocks on wood )

I have been using one for a few years now, unfortunately it's a cheap Chinese knock-off that is not 1080HD as advertised, the quality of the footage isn't great. But it has served it's purpose for at least one time when a lady inadvertently cut my off and rubbed her door on my front passenger tire. There was another time when I needed the footage but was unable to retrieve any because the SD card was corrupt. I have since updated to a a higher quality SD card. I have it hard wired to the ignition so that it will automatically turn on when I start my truck and turn off when the ignition is off, plug n play forget about it set up. When I get home I'll look for the footage of the lady who cut me off and I'll post it.

It's a piece of mind knowing that there will be video graphic evidence for Insurance claim reasons. There is also a positive side effect to having a dash cam...my driving habits have drastically changes for the better lmao.

I have a Rexing V1 the video is excellent and easy to use. Almost 3 years and no issues and excellent customer service. A friend purchased one had an issue with it not looping gave them a call they overnight shipped a new one with prepaid shipping label for the return .

This works pretty well, I've had one for 2+ years without any issues. Has reasonable quality video and works fine day and night. Mount one facing forward and one facing rear.

Just recently bought one. My advice is to make sure it records night time/low light video. Not all do it well. Also have the impact feature that locks down recorded video after an impact.

I use a GoPro Hero 4. Great picture , nice and clear.
Withstands heat/ cold like no other.

Once showed a vid to a cop that pulled me over for not yielding to a couple pedestrians , showed him the "people" crossed on a light against them and stepped out in front of me . They got tickets for jay walking and scolded for flipping me off . I got to go on my way with a " Have a great day , and thanks for the video ". They were told that if I had wanted I could have them up on assault charges for flipping me off , my grand daughter was in the car at the time .

Another time showed the cops a hit and run , showed the plate perfect and the drivers face .
