    Warantee replacement tv***update last post***

My almost 3 yr old Vizio E601i-a3 60" tv has developed a yellow horizontal line on the right side. I have a SquareTrade warrantee and they are offering to replace it with a new Sharp LC-60N5100u.
    Is this a fair trade?
Would you consider this the same quality?
Or would another brand or model be a better trade.
I think it's great that SquareTrade is making a replacement offer, and I'm not looking to upgrade at their expense, but I also don't want to drop down in quality.
    Thanks in advance.

    A $700 tv for a $700 tv.

    Seems fair to me.

Sharp was the leader in lcd tech....dont know how theyre doing nowadays...

I also have a vizio with warranty...my former coworker told me the power supplyt were the first to go But I've noticed the lcd backlight are usually first to malfunction...

If they won't give u anther vizio go for the Sharp...it won't be any worse is my guess

I have the same Costco square trade warranty on my 80" Vizio. Are they letting you keep your old faulty TV along with the replacement?

Yes, I'll be responsible to get rid of it-----or fix it.
I've been told on another forum that the offered replacement is technically inferior. Guess I'll need to really spend some time with the specs, then call SquareTrade.
Thanks for all the reply--except for the "Vizio's are junk" comment which really helped a lot.

Awesome! If my tv ever goes bad, I can move it to the garage. I can deal with a vertical line if its just in the garage.

I talked to SquareTrade and told them that I thought the Sharp was a lower performing set and gave them comparable Vizio and Samsung models, that I had researched on line. They will ship me a Samsung UN60J6200, free of charge, and include the remainder of my 5yr warrantee.
I don't normally buy extended warranties, but this was $60 well spent. I think the warranty was cheaper at Costco.
              SquareTrade is OK with me!!

for the OP and others out there, I have a samsung i bought that ended up dying 2 days out of warranty. after going back and forth with thoughts of getting it repaired I decided to do the job myself. 29 bucks and 15 minutes later the tv was as good as new.

I don't have the website i used to get the parts in front of me but if you guys are interested ill find it and post it.

I'll still have my old set to either fix or get rid of.
So, yea, any help to fix it would be appreciated.
