    Keep my build or upgrade?

Let's here what CG has to say!

I haven't kept up with the latest by intel, Radeon, or NVidia and I'm wondering; for the later games such as Battlefield and what not do you think I should build a new PC?

Due to work I haven't gamed in approximately 2 years however I had built a PC over 3 years ago just for gaming.

    Specs are as follows;

    Intel 4670k clocked at 4.3ghz
Corsair H80i closed loop liquid cooler for the CPU
    Gigabyte Sniper M5 micro-atx board
    Corsair CX750M modular power supply
    Corsair Vengeance 1600 16gb (2x8gb)
EVGA GTX 780 (+80mhz gpu offset, +160mhz mem clock offset)
Samsung 840 EVO SSD (for OS)
    Seagate Barracuda (for media/games)

(Excuse the crappy picture, it was done with an old camera or phone...don't remember)

I don't game at 4k but I do have a nice monitor that I can't seem to upgrade (no need to) and its an Asus VG248QE with 144hz refresh rate.

MY PC eats and runs everything I throw at it at max resolution. This includes Skyrim, the Witcher, Crysis series games and more.

How much longer should I keep this setup and is it worth going Z170+Skylake+DDR4 ram?

You might be better off in the other PC setup thread. The only upgrade you might consider is a new graphics card.

If you replaced it with all new components, you could easily spend $1500 for a 15% performance boost. Not really worth it.

Got it, didn't know where to post this exactly.

Well I purchased an MSI 1080 video card so I hope it holds me up for awhile.

Yeah, a current flagship video card should last about 18 months and keep up with recent releases. About 24 months if you're comfortable overclocking it. I'm waiting for the polaris cards to come out to drop prices.

You already said it eats whatever you throw at it. If it's still working, don't waste your money chasing performance that you don't need. That's why so many people in the U.S. are in such dire financials.
