    30 day dros boo boo

Well went to my LGS and bought a Springfield XD subcompact. My 30 days was up tonight at 5:49pm and we ran the dros at 5:44pm

Guess I will need to wait another 30 days :/

Keep good track, better to wait an extra day and be sure - DOJ can get kind of cranky...

First time is a $50 fine, 2nd time is $100, 3rd time is a misdemeanor. They usually don't hit you with a fine the first time, but all bets are off after that.

    PC27590(e)

    (e) (1) A first violation of Section 27535 is an infraction
punishable by a fine of fifty dollars ($50).
    (2) A second violation of Section 27535 is an infraction
punishable by a fine of one hundred dollars ($100).
    (3) A third or subsequent violation of Section 27535 is a
    misdemeanor.
    (4) For purposes of this subdivision each application to purchase
a handgun in violation of Section 27535 shall be deemed a separate
    offense.

You don't understand how many lives that 5 minutes saved.

I just stumbled upon this thread and learned something. I had no idea that there were fines associated with DROSing too early. I just assumed you would be denied. Thanks SkyHawk!

An expensive 5 minutes... it seems sooooooo easy to avoid this error.

if I am trying to run a handgun on exactly day 30, I look at my last DROS form to see what time my 30-day pickup window is. after that expires, then I can start the new DROS.

Do you want an AOW or C&R SBS/SBR in CA?
