    Microsoft Lumia 950?

I'm an odd one as far as mobile phones go, unlike most people who use either an iPhone or a Android based variant, I use a Nokia Lumia 920 which runs Windows Phone 8 and I like it. It does everything I need, which is mostly for work related use, and does it well.

Its been a couple of years and Microsoft has released the Lumia 950, with a feature that I really like and is not available on most other phones; removable battery. I feel that not having a spare battery for my phone is like not having a spare magazine for my firearm. There's nothing like ejecting the spent battery and slapping in a fresh one to keep going. Reload!

Does anyone here use the Lumia 950? Anything I should watch out for? Thanks.

I'm running the 640, arguably the best value in any Windows Phone or any Smartphone currently available - period. I don't have any experience with the 950 but WindowsCentral.com is probably the best place to get your info.

What's the 640? $30 or $35 bucks on sale with no contract? Yeah, it's a value...

      And the battery is replaceable...

My Dad just swapped his 940 with a bad battery for a 640...

The Lumia 640 is going for $30 at the Microsoft Store, Best Buy, and Walmart.

I played with the 950 and 950XL at the Microsoft store. Both nice phones, the 950XL has better CPU but won't fit in my hand well, so I am thinking about the 950 which is slightly less wide and fits my hand better (also Microsoft is selling them for $550 right now, ATT is $600). Reading Windows Central and MSPoweruser, it seems to be that the Microsoft store version (dual sim) is better due to no bloatware, faster updates and the ATT version (single sim) had some problems due to ATT firmware, not sure if that was resolved. I don't really need a dual sim, but I will most likely end buying it. If you do get it from other than ATT, look up the order of the set up before you even turn it on (in a nutshell, put in in the sim card first, turn on and then update).

Thanks guys, I'll stop by the local AT&T store to check out the 950.

I've been traveling for work more and having a replaceable battery is very nice. At a recent company event, I noticed many colleagues trying to find a power outlet to charge their phone, its a real hassle. My current Lumia 920 did ok and lasted the day but it came close to running out of juice and hence my interest in another phone with replaceable battery.

BigBearBear, if you are still interested in the 950 Microsoft Store has a good deal till 3/27 for $449 (ATT version is $598, must be for the bloatware), but only for the black. I wanted white but could not pass up this deal.

Well, my 950 hasn't arrived yet, but I went to Best Buy for a back up. The Lumia 640 no contract is $29.99, but you have to get info from ATT how to unlock it.

I go back and forth between android (note series of phones) and iPhone. But the 950 caught my eye. Whatever you do don't get the 950xl. most things I have read say it is garbage. However, that is up to the user. A lot of people also say to just get the 930, because for the price they feel like the 950 is a nexus phone.

Good to see few Windows Phone users here, although just fraction of the market it still seems to have followers.

I have 950XL and like it very much. Great camera, and zippy performance. Am running the insider build 10.0.14295.1000 and the new map application is great.

I finally got my 950 and am glad I got it, it is zippy just like the above poster's 950 XL and I did not need much of a learning curve since I am already running W10 on my computers. The 640 was a great buy for $30, ATT gave me an unlock key but I am still waiting for the 8.1 to 10 upgrade, which should make it perform even better. The alleged lack of apps doesn't bother me since I mainly use a phone for business and I already installed the apps I need for that.
